Since the vigorous development of channel sales by Advantech, many customers have purchased Advantech complete machine products from Advantech distributors. According to the authorized level of Advantech, some distributors have the authority to purchase components from Advantech and assemble Advantech branded complete machines themselves. In order to facilitate customers to distinguish whether the product they purchase is an original Advantech machine, and whether the purchased machine enjoys the relevant after-sales service of Advantech, this article will share with you the methods of identifying Advantech original machine/non original machine and the differences in related service policies.

Different definitions

Original equipment from Advantech: Refers to the products assembled and produced by Advantech and sold in the form of complete machines. The original complete machine products are labeled with the Advantech factory's complete machine model and serial number. The complete machine structure should include at least the chassis, motherboard, motherboard, CPU, power supply, memory, and hard disk (or CF card, etc.).

Non original machine: The products assembled by Advantech Corporation, including chassis, motherboard, motherboard, and key components (also known as "quasi systems"), are sold by authorized distributors of Advantech after adding or removing some product components or software.

The appearance and barcode of the model are different

The original product model of Advantech depends on the product catalog, with a variety of types and barcode names starting with E6, such as IPC-820 E6DGML2706XXXX (where X represents the numerical sequence number).

The barcode naming of non original whole machine products from Advantech starts with E5, such as IPC-810 E5DGMK1001XXXX (X represents numerical sequence number).

    Note that the specific barcode mentioned above is determined by the barcode rules defined internally by Advantech, and this barcode contains many information such as the production date of this product.

Different service policies

Non original machine
                    The free warranty period and service method for non original machines shall be subject to the commitment/sales contract of the authorized dealer who directly sells them; Instead of using original parts from Advantech in the entire machine, Advantech provides the following services:
                    Service form: "Sending repair service" (returning to the designated or nearby repair network of Advantech for repair).
                    Warranty period: 2-year warranty. If the customer requests an extension of the warranty period, it will be considered as a paid warranty.

Original machine
                    Service form: Customers can choose "repair service" or "on-site service" according to their own situation. Door to door service "is a paid service, which is provided by querying the barcode of the machine and providing corresponding services according to the definition in the contract.
                    Warranty period: 2 years of warranty; If the customer requests an extension of the warranty period, it will be considered as a paid warranty.
